What can a business loan be used for?
Working capital, cash flow, stock, a fit-out, taking on a bigger job, or buying vehicles and equipment. Tell me what you need it for and I’ll find lenders that suit it.
Do I need property as security?
Not always. Some business loans are unsecured, some are secured against property, and vehicle and equipment loans are usually secured by the asset you’re buying. It depends on the loan and the lender’s assessment.
What will the lender ask for?
Usually your ABN details, how long you’ve been trading, recent business bank statements, and for larger loans your financials or BAS. See my documents checklist.
Is a business loan or equipment finance better?
If you’re buying a vehicle or a machine, finance secured by that asset is often simpler. For cash flow or growth, a business loan may suit better. I’ll explain the options for your situation.
Can I claim the interest or GST?
It depends on your business. Speak to your accountant.
