Can I buy a ute from a private seller?
Yes, many lenders finance private sales. The lender will usually want proof the seller owns the vehicle, a check that there’s no money owing on it, and sometimes an inspection. I’ll walk you through each step. Read my private sale guide.
Do I need a deposit?
Not always. Some lenders offer options with no deposit for eligible business buyers, while others want a deposit or a trade-in. A deposit lowers the amount you borrow and your repayments. It depends on your situation and the lender’s assessment.
What is a balloon payment?
A lump sum you pay at the end of the loan. It lowers your regular repayments, but you’ll need to pay it, refinance it or sell the vehicle when the loan ends. Read my guide to balloon payments.
Can the canopy, tray or fit-out be included?
Often, yes, when it’s fitted as part of the purchase and on the invoice. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll check it with the lender before you commit.
Can I finance a used ute?
Yes. Lenders have rules about how old a vehicle can be by the end of the loan, so I’ll match you with a lender that suits the ute you’re buying.
Can I claim the GST or a tax deduction?
It depends on your business and how the ute is used. Speak to your accountant before you buy. They can tell you what applies to you.
How long does it take?
Many approvals within 24–48 hours, depending on the lender and your situation. I’ll tell you what to have ready so nothing holds you up.
